Gary has built intellectual property worth over $1B in total for market leaders like Motorola and startups like Cleversafe. Gary is a registered U.S. Patent Agent who has served on many industry, university advisory, and non-profit boards. He has been an expert witness to the U.S. Congress and has 500 issued U.S. patents. From 1980 to 2008, Gary served in senior management and R&D roles at Motorola including CTO and Senior Fellow. Since then, Gary has been CEO of the Caerus Institute, an intellectual property consultancy.
Gary received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University. He lives in Barrington Hills, IL with his wife Kathy; they have one adult daughter. In his spare time, Gary enjoys organic farming and racing cars.
